Great to see @US_FDA Guiding Principles for #AI #MachineLearning device development in medicine released. We wrote about many of these in @ScienceMagazine 2 yrs ago: https://www.science.org/doi/abs/10.1126/science.aaw0029. Reporting Human-AI partnerships is gr8 idea in particular. https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/software-medical-device-samd/good-machine-learning-practice-medical-device-development-guiding-principles https://t.co/jcX6YQl157

Lastly, this was a huge lift that took operations, research, and clinician leadership by @lynn_schuchter Larry Shulman@mdraugelis Nina O'Connor & others. Fuller data to come in next few months. But I feel a LOT more hopeful abt #AI/#machinelearning in medicine after this effort

Lots of potential w/ #BigData and #PrecisionMedicine in clinical medicine....But bigger potential addressing social determinants of #health? In @AJMC_Journal, @AmolNavathe @sacjai and I explain why, proposing the Sociobehavioral Phenotype. #SDOH https://www.ajmc.com/journals/issue/2019/2019-vol25-n9/the-sociobehavioral-phenotype-applying-a-precision-medicine-framework-to-social-determinants-of-health https://t.co/TPtHqwRaVO
